Le Jacquard Francais

In 1861, in Gérardmer—cradle of the French textile industry—Benjamin Baer laid the foundations of a house dedicated to fine fabrics, working with rural artisans who wove textiles in their homes. After his death, the business passed to Nathan Lévy, who, with his brother Elie, created Nathan Lévy and Company and ushered the house into a new era of industrial growth. By the early 20th century, mechanical weaving and expanded production signaled the company’s ambition.

Despite being destroyed during the Second World War, the workshop rose again, rebuilt with resilience and innovation at its core. Acquired in 1968 by the ELIS group, the company entered a modern industrial age, and in 1974, a new name was born: Le Jacquard Français.

A decisive turning point came in 1978 with stylist Primrose Bordier, who transformed traditional white linens into vibrant, expressive creations. Through bold patterns, rich colors, and technical innovation, household linens became true objects of style.

Today, Le Jacquard Français continues to reinvent itself, offering table, bath, outdoor, and decorative collections. Rooted in heritage yet driven by creativity, the brand remains a timeless reference for lovers of beautiful linens and French art de vivre.
